  1. Why? Is is FARGO. Not grand forks. Besides there is like. 2500 fans at game, last year in green bay there was 3100. NO ONE CARES OBVIOUSLY. Plus und is 21-19 (7ties are losses in my book). So you won 21 of 40 .500. That’s embarrassing

  2. I normally don’t have the time I’d like to reply to AreaVoices comments, but I’ll reply to this one.

First thank you for taking a moment to drop a quick note… let me address a few things you mentioned…

To your question – we are the voice of UND athletics in the Red River Valley… makes no difference that we’re not in Grand Forks. You broadcast the games, and produce accompanying shows, of the school contracted with you.

As far as attendance – UND averaged 11,155 this season, or 95.9% of capacity.

Tournament-wise, at the WCHA Final Five game last week vs. Colorado College (which I covered)… attendance was over 17,000 in the Xcel Energy Center and a significant percentage of the fans in attendance – easily over 10,000 – were in green.

Finally, to add perspective… I spoke with the play-by-play voice of Michigan Wolverines hockey two years ago at the Frozen Four in St. Paul. He marveled at how UND fans support hockey not only at home, but in particular on the road. He emphatically compared UND hockey fans to Michigan football fans.

So, respectfully – the notion that no one cares is categorically incorrect.

  3. So they get the same “cult” of fan every game , big deal it’s still less than 1% of area population. I noticed you didn’t dispell my facts of there being 2700-3000 fans at NCAA playoffs games. Weak , it’s embarrassing that you work in Fargo and pimp that school.
